Santa did not let Mother Nature get in his way. He moved the annual Tree Lighting to Sunday, November 23rd and made it an evening to remember for thousands of attendees who enjoyed holiday traditions and new exciting attractions.
The event began with the Southlake Community Band playing holiday favorites to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. The celebration continued throughout the evening complete with photos with Santa, snowman building with Olaf, photos with Elsa and Anna, a 4-lane snow tubing hill, holiday crafts, live entertainment and much more! The Tree Lighting Ceremony officially kicked-off the holiday season here in Southlake when Santa Claus lit up Town Square. With snow falling in Family Park, Christmas carols in the background and holiday activities found throughout the square, it was a magical evening.
The City is fortunate to have several sponsors that helped make this event possible. The Presenting Sponsor of the 2014 Tree Lighting was Enchanted Fairies Studio. The Cookie Decorating Sponsor, Kroger, is provided cookies and icing for holiday cookie decorating. Taste Buds Kitchen is provided cupcakes and decorating supplies for attendees to decorate and eat their own cupcake. Guests were provided with free bottled water during the event, thanks to Frost Bank, the Quencher Sponsor. The Holiday Sponsors included Sleep Number, Sky Ranch, Springfree Trampoline Inc, Children’s Health Southlake, The Goddard School and Brain Balance, all of which had booths and holiday activities at the event. Snowman building was an exciting new activity this year. The Fresh Market provided all the snowman building items for participants to get creative and decorate their very own snowman. Thanks to the Santa’s Workshop Sponsor, Fantastic Sams, there was a variety of holiday crafts for kids to enjoy. A special thank you to all our 2014 sponsors!
