Dragons Blank Haltom, Aim for Perfect Regular Season

PinkOut14_JRepice (9)The Carroll Dragons produced their first shutout of the season and are one step away from a perfect regular season.

The Dragons dominated Haltom 62-0 to improve to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in District 7-6a last Friday at Dragon Stadium. Carroll aims for a 10-0 finish Friday at 7:30 p.m. against L.D. Bell at Bedford’s Pennington Field.

Carroll held Haltom to 56 yards and two first downs. Dragon senior quarterback Ryan Agnew threw three touchdowns and backup Montana Murphy added two. The Dragons led 41-0 at halftime and were led in rushing by Deondre Wilshire, who had eight carries for 95 yards and two TDs. Lil’ Jordan Humphrey had 77 yards and one TD.

Cameron Emery was the leading receiver with five catches for 91 yards and two TDs. CJ Bryan had four catches for 90 yards and one TD and Brooks Pannell had six catches for 60 yards and two TDs.

The Dragons remain ranked No. 2 in Class 6A by the Associated Press.
