Holiday Art Exhibit by Trish Biddle at Town Hall through January 5

Festival of Trees 2010

Festival of Trees 2010

Known for portraying Glamourous Women in Fabulous Places®, local artist Trish Biddle adds Southlake (once again) to her list of destinations with a series of five holiday-themed paintings on display at Southlake Town Hall until January 5, 2015.

The five paintings represent Southlake’s annual holiday traditions, family activities and Southlake Town Square, a popular destination for both locals and visitors:

  • “Home for the Holidays” represents the six week celebration in Town Square that is kicked-off with the annual tree lighting ceremony and includes sleigh rides around the square.
  • “Santas Village” portrays a quaint town square with families waiting to convey their holiday wishes to the jolly man with white beard.
  • “Festival of Trees 2010” depicts a family holding hands near the giant Christmas tree in Town Square with another couple sitting on a bench looking on dressed in winter fashion.
  • “Festival of Trees” highlights the many shopping opportunities and festive window displays in Town Square.
  • “Festival of Trees 2” shows glamourous women shopping and dining along the decorated streets of Town Square.

According to Biddle, the paintings are inspired by actual events as she has attended Southlake’s tree lighting ceremony during the past few years. Prints are available for purchase on her website: www.TrishBiddle.com.

“So many people come to enjoy the Christmas spirit at such a special place, Southlake Town Square. Painting during the lighting of the trees was a wonderful experience and really kicked off the Christmas season for me,” Biddle said in 2010, noting that she has also created commemorative ornaments depicting Southlake scenes. “This is one of the ways I can give back to the community. I tried to capture the moment on canvas, as the choir was singing and some children were watching me paint the tree. I could feel the energy and excitement build as they anticipated the lights to transform the square into a winter wonderland.”

The holiday art exhibit is free to the public. Southlake Town Hall is located at 1400 Main Street, Southlake, Texas, 76092.
