DSC_0550Last week was exciting for the Carroll Dragon wrestlers. It all started with a dual meet at rival Keller. The dual pitted the top contenders for the District 4-6A title in an early season clash.

The Dragons jumped out to an early lead at 24-12 before halftime. The highlighted matches of the dual came in the early run with Cameron Haddock and Trevor Price winning huge matches over past regional placers from Keller. The Dragons built their lead and held off a late run by the Indians for a 38-34 victory. The Dragons improved to 5- 1 in dual meets on the season.

The Dragon also traveled to the Mid-America Nationals in Enid last weekend. The field was load with top competition, but the Dragons wrestled well all weekend. Five wrestlers took home hardware, placing in the top six. Cameron Haddock (4th), Zach Francis (4th), Ryan Lindberg (5th), Jack Duval (5th), & Andrei Steinjann (5th). Three others placed in the top eight, Zach Schmidt (7th), Baron Walsh (7th) and Clay Vincent (8th). All wrestlers received at least five matches each in the event.
