Eubanks Teacher Earns Prestigious Award

EIS teacher Janay Hunt was named the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

Eubanks Intermediate School teacher Janay Hunt was recently recognized with a prestigious award.

Hunt was named winner of the Captain Molly Corbin Grapevine Chapter and the NSDAR Second Place (Texas) State Winner for Outstanding Teacher of American History. The award signifies the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

“I am very honored and excited to win this award from the Daughters of the American Revolution,” Hunt said. “It’s because of my amazing students, teammates and administrators that I am able to teacher outside the box. I just love what I do every single day.”

The Daughters of the American Revolution Awards banquet was recently held at the Trophy Club Country Club.

Hunt has taught for 19 years, including the past 14 in Carroll ISD. She teaches 5th grade Social Studies and 5th grade GT Social Studies.

“Janay Hunt is such an important part of the Eubanks family,” Eubanks Principal Deana Steeber said. “She is an amazing teacher. We are so proud of her for protecting the Dragon Tradition and expecting excellence in all that she does.”
