Record Qualifier for CISD Debate Students

Fresh off a competitive win, the Dragon Debate team looks to the annual Tournament of Champions this weekend.

The Dragons brought home top honors at the Lone Star District Tournament the weekend of April 18. This event is a a national qualifying tournament and one of the most competitive events in the country.

Carroll freshmen Aman Patel and Camilla Cox are the first Cross Examination Debate team ever to qualify for Nationals from CISD. Likewise, qualifying to the national tournament as ninth graders is extraordinarily rare. The National Speech and Debate Association National Finals will be held in Dallas during the third week of June.

Congressional Debate (Senate) winners were, sophomore Emma Lin and senior, Azhar Hussain.
