Around the Horn: Lady Dragons Undefeated in 7-6A

ladydragonsoftballThe Lady Dragons won their eighth consecutive game Tuesday 9-2 against rival Coppell and remain the leader in District 7-6A. The Lady Dragons improved to 12-5 overall and 7-0 in district. Haltom holds second place at 6-2 in district.

Carroll was led at the plate vs. Coppell by Gretchen Morgan, who had three hits and three RBI. The Lady Dragons finished with 12 hits. Cami Green earned the victory on the mound with a complete game. Carroll returns to action Friday vs. Richland at 7:15 p.m. at Lady Dragon Field.

Baseball Bounces Back With Victories
After a slow start to District 7-6A, the Carroll Dragon baseball team has won consecutive games and looks for a sweep Friday vs. Trinity. The Dragons earned victories against Richland and Trinity to improve to 2-3 in district and 13-3 overall. Carroll plays at 7 p.m. at Trinity. The Dragons handed Trinity its first district loss on Tuesday at Dragon Field behind pitcher Michael Canterino, who had 10 strikeouts in five innings.
