Get ready to kickoff your summer in the beautiful city of Southlake with a morning full of fun at the City’s 8th Annual Summer Kickoff! This FREE event will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 10 AM – 1 PM at Rustin Park in Southlake Town Square.

This annual event not only commences the start of summer, but also showcases the Southlake Public Library and it’s Summer Reading Program. The  program is for babies all the way up to teens and is designed to keep kids from slipping down the dreaded summer slide by offering an exciting summer reading program filled with fun and incentives to keep them reading all summer long. This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is “Every hero has a story.”

Several other City departments will also be at the event to answer questions and provide information about their summer activities,  including; The Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve,  Southlake Tennis Center,  Senior Center and Community Services Recreation team.

The morning will be filled with activities for the family including live musical entertainment by The Space Rockers, bounce houses, balloon artists, crafts, field games, police and fire vehicles, appearances by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wonder Woman and an amazing fire juggler! There will also be a limited amount of Rita’s Italian ice available at no cost!
