Dragon Bats Come Alive in Series Victory

Dragon center fielder Eric Cole had three hits and four RBI in Game 3 vs. Hebron.

PLANO – In the deciding Game 3 of the area playoffs, the Carroll Dragons’ offense came alive with perfect timing.

The Dragons exploded with 16 hits in a 15-2 victory against Hebron on Saturday at Plano West High School. The Dragons advance to face district rival Coppell in a Region I quarterfinals series beginning Thursday.

Carroll (24-6) also had an impressive performance by sophomore pitcher Kole Ramage, who went six innings and silenced Hebron’s lineup. The Hawks were limited to five hits. Ramage had early comfort from a Dragons four-run first inning, keyed by sophomore Ross Cadena’s three-run home run. Cadena and center fielder Eric Cole each had three hits and four RBI.

Hebron forced Game 3 after winning a wild 8-7 victory in Game 2 Friday night. Carroll rallied from a 7-2 deficit to tie the game, but Hebron scored the game-winning run in the top of the sixth.
