Randol Mill closure – FM 1709 to Johnson Road. FM 1938 Phase II roadwork

Beginning tonight, June 23, 2015 at approximately 8:00PM, construction crews will close FM 1938 (Randol Mill Avenue) north of the FM 1709 (Southlake Boulevard) intersection to just south of Johnson Road  to perform storm drainage installation (see map). The road will remain closed to all traffic until approximately 6:00AM, Wednesday June 24, 2015.

Motorists can expect similar closures to occur late Wednesday (6/24) into early Thursday (6/25) morning, and late Thursday (6/25) into early Friday (6/26) morning. No work will be done Friday or Saturday and the work will not impact the Stars and Stripes event scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2015.

The storm drainage installation is expected to last approximately three weeks. During that time, this section of road will be closed nightly from Sunday through early Friday morning. If you have to travel in the area after 8:00PM on those days, please be aware of the closure and seek alternate routes.

Also remember to please slow down, obey warning signs, use caution, have patience while traveling through the construction area and do not cross barricades.

For questions, please contact Stephen Ranft, TxDOT Mobility Coordinator at 817-462-0520 and fm1938mobility@gmail.com

Lane closures and traffic switches are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.
