New Assistant Chief of Police Named

Chief James Brandon recently promoted Lieutenant Ashleigh Douglas to Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Southlake.  Chief Douglas has worked in law enforcement for 22 years, and she has been with the Southlake Police Department since 2000.

Chief Douglas has served as a divisional commander for the last 12 years.  Some of her duties have included oversight of the patrol division, criminal investigation division, and professional standards division, as well as budget and business plan preparation, planning and research and internal affairs.  “Chief Douglas consistently represents the City’s values and sets a great example for all in the Police Department.  Her promotion will be an integral part of the Police Department’s future,” said Chief Brandon.

Chief Douglas has already begun a seamless transition into her new role. “I am honored to continue serving the citizens of Southlake as the Assistant Chief of Police. I am fully committed to the tenets of community policing and to enhancing public safety.” 

Chief Douglas has a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas in Arlington.  She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 242, and the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), Police Executive Research Forum (PERF).
