Southlake Police Advisory – Suspicious Person

The Southlake Police Department is asking residents to use extra caution when answering the door to anyone they do not know. The department has recently received a report of a suspicious male who has approached several homeowners in Southlake and other surrounding cities.

The man reportedly knocks on the door and tells the homeowner that he lives around the corner and is locked out of his house.  He also asks the homeowner if anyone else is home, such as a spouse, and he may ask for a small amount of money.

The man was described as a white male, balding, in his 30s or 40s with tattoos on his arms.  The male may also have facial hair and was last reported to be wearing a red shirt.  Police are looking for any surveillance cameras in the area that may help lead them to this suspect, as well as provide any additional information.

Southlake Police Officers responded to the latest call last night in the 200 block of Timber Lake Dr.  The suspect was gone upon officers’ arrival.  Officers were later called back to the house after the homeowner said she heard someone in her backyard. Officers searched the area but the suspect had already fled.

Southlake Police Officers maintained a heavy presence in the area throughout the night, and detectives continue to investigate to develop leads. Southlake Police are urging residents to stay vigilant and to contact the Police Department if they have any information related to this or a similar incident.  Southlake Police are also asking for any video surveillance from the Timber Lake subdivision to assist with this investigation.
