Dragons Roll Past Abilene, Gear for Rival Coppell

FB Images (1)ABILENE – The Carroll Dragons withstood another tough road challenge last Friday at Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium.

The Dragons blasted previously undefeated Abilene 42-17 to finish their grueling non-district schedule at 3-1. But the Dragons hit the road again this week at rival Coppell at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

This is the District 7-6A opener for the Dragons. Coppell opened district play last week with a 42-10 victory against L.D. Bell.

Against Abilene, Dragon quarterback Mason Holmes had another big game passing for 264 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Lil’ Jordan Humphrey amassed a big night with 113 yards rushing and 166 yards receiving and two combined TDs.

Dragon senior receiver Zach Farrar had three TD catches, all three in the first quarter and finished with five catches for 94 yards.
