Mayor Laura Hill recognized the week of November 2- November 6, 2015 as Municipal Court Week at the November 3, 2015 City Council Meeting in the proclamation below, and further requested that all citizens join her in extending appreciation to all Southlake Municipal Judges, Court Clerks and other court support personnel for the vital services they perform and their dedication to the Southlake community.

Whereas, public impression of the entire Texas judicial system is largely dependent upon the public’s experience in municipal court; and,

Whereas, Municipal Judges, Court Clerks and other court support personnel have  pledged to be ever mindful of their neutrality and impartiality, rendering equal service to all, and conform to the standards set by the Canons of Judicial Conduct; and,

Whereas, the Municipal Courts play a significant role in preserving the quality of life in Texas communities, ensuring a high level of traffic safety for our citizens. The Municipal Courts serve as the local justice center that protects the peace and dignity of our community through judicial proceedings; and,

Whereas, it is most appropriate that we recognize the accomplishments of the 916 Texas Municipal Courts, and salute their critical role in preserving public safety, protecting the quality of life in Texas communities, and deterring future criminal; now,

Therefore,  I Laura Hill, Mayor of the City of Southlake, do recognize the week of November 2- November 6, 2015, as Municipal Court Week, and further request all citizens join me in extending appreciation to all Southlake Municipal Judges, Court Clerks and other court support personnel for the vital services they perform and their exemplary dedication to our community.
