Dragons Rout L.D. Bell, Gear for Cedar Hill Playoff

The Carroll Dragons finished the regular season last Friday with a final playoff tuneup.

The Dragons defeated L.D. Bell 56-7 on Senior Night at Dragon Stadium and finished the regular season 8-2 and earned the top Division II seed in District 7-6A.

Carroll advances to host Cedar Hill in a Class 6A Division II bi-district playoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium. Cedar Hill is a two-time defending state champion and knocked Carroll out of the playoff last season. Click here to see photos from the night.

Against Bell, the Dragons were unstoppable in the first half. Carroll rolled up 604 yards of offense and held Bell to 151 yards and five first downs. The Dragons finished with 332 yards and were led Alex Simpson who had 151 yards on 21 carries and one TD. Lil’ Jordan Humphrey had 103 yards on just eight carries and three TDs. The Dragons led 21-0 after the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime

Dragon junior quarterback Mason Holmes was 11-for-15 with 247 yards and two TDs.
