Carroll Basketball Teams Sweep L.D. Bell

The Carroll Lady Dragon basketball team earned a 40-27 victory last Friday against L.D. Bell. Anna Hurlburt led all scorers with 25 points and Gabby McBride added six. Carroll’s defense held Bell to three points in the second quarter and 11 in the first half. The Lady Dragons are in third place in District 7-6A at 5-2 behind Trinity and Colleyville Heritage. Carroll hosts Coppell on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The Dragons also earned a victory last Friday against L.D. Bell 57-42. The Dragons were led by Jack McBride’s 23 points. Cooper Osburn and Joey McCormick added eight apiece and Steven Blomstrom had seven. The Dragons return to action Friday when they host rival Coppell at 8 p.m. Carroll is 11-11 overall in second place in district behind Coppell.

Friday’s games will help support Coaches vs. Cancer and include “White Out Night” for fans and a T-shirt giveaway. Donations will be accepted during the game as Dragon cheerleaders will pass buckets to collect donations on a Beat The Clock Challenge.

During lunch on Friday, teams members will be collecting change donations for the event.
