Dragon Wrestling Makes History at Region Meet

DWThe Carroll Dragon wrestling team made a memorable trip to El Paso in the Class 6A Region I meet last weekend.

The Dragons finished second as a team and will send a record six qualifiers and two alternates to the UIL State Tournament Feb. 19-20 at the Berry Center in Cypress. Junior Adam Lindberg won the region title in the 170-pound weight class and senior Jack Duval was a region runnerup in the 160-pound class.

Carroll coach Joe Hathaway was named Region I Coach of the Year as he led the Dragons to their highest region finish in school history. The Dragons were region runnerup to Arlington Martin. The Dragons scored 163.5 points and Martin finished with 231.5.
