Hoops Update: Dragons Win, Remain in Second Place

DragonHoopsThe Carroll Dragons avenged an loss earlier at Trinity by routing the Trojans in the second matchup of the two teams in District 7-6A. Carroll defeated Trinity 78-53 last Friday at Carroll Senior High School as the Dragons continued to secure second place in district.

Sophomore Jack McBride led the Dragons with a game-high 21 points. He was one of five Carroll players in double figures. Joey McCormick had 16, Steven Blomstrom had 12 and Cooper Osburn scored 11. Carroll (13-12 overall) fell earlier this season at Trinity 68-65. The Dragons, who play at Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday at 8 p.m., are 7-7 in district ahead of third-place Richland and fourth-place Trinity. Coppell is in first place.

Lady Dragons Fall to Trinity, End Regular Season Tuesday
The Lady Dragons dropped to 7-4 in District 7-6A with a 29-24 loss to the Lady Trojans. Carroll was led by Priscilla Smeenge, who scored 13 points. Anna Hurlburt had seven. The Lady Dragons have clinched a playoff berth in 7-6A. The Lady Dragons are 13-11 overall and end the regular season at Colleyville Heritage at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
