Directors Award for the Southlake Fire Department Announced

The Southlake Fire Department is proud to announce the recipient of the Director’s award to Driver/Engineer Ricky Davis. Davis is dedicated to his profession and takes great pride in giving back to the community. Davis strives for excellence in everything he does whether it’s responding to a fire or providing great customer service to our citizens. Fire Chief Mike Starr said,  “He is also very dedicated to children and is typically the first one to volunteer for public education events such as story time at the station with several hundred children.” Davis also came up with the idea for a miniature smokehouse which was a big hit with kids.  He worked with members of “C” shift to design and build the smokehouse. The smokehouse is a great, visual way to educate children about fire safety in the home. Fire Safety Smoke House

When he is not serving the citizens of Southlake Davis is dedicated to serving at his church.  Davis is a positive role model for his peers. He exemplifies all of the City’s core values: Innovation, Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork and Excellence.  For his level of dedication to fire safety and his commitment to providing quality public education to the children of Southlake, Ricky Davis is deserving of this year’s Director’s Award.

The City of Southlake and the Southlake Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter/Engineer Ricky Davis as the 2015 Fire Department Director’s Award winner and “Firefighter of the Year” award. Congratulations!
