Around The Horn: Dragon Baseball Upends Plano East

The Carroll Dragons played five tournament games Thursday-Saturday in Grand Prairie and Arlington and concluded on a positive note with a 2-0 victory against Plano East.

Reagan Rainwater drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Adam Stephenson got the victory in relief tossing two shutout innings. Dragon starter Jason Small went five innings and allowed just three hits and had six strikeouts. In the remainder of the action, Carroll had two losses (Plano, Lubbock Coronado) and one tie (Mansfield.) The Dragons are 5-4-1 on the season and play in the Arlington Heights tournament starting Thursday.

Lady Dragons Split Six Games In Prosper Tournament
The Carroll Lady Dragons (11-7) went 3-3 in the Prosper Tournament last weekend. The Lady Dragons defeated Dallas Sunset 15-0 and Irving Nimitz 16-0 to open the tournament. Carroll lost 5-2 vs. Midland Lee and bounced back with a 10-3 victory against Mount Vernon. In the final two games, Carroll lost close games to John Paul II (6-5) and Prosper (9-5).

The Lady Dragons return to action Tuesday as they start District 7-6A action at Coppell at 7:15 p.m.
