Around the Horn: Softball Earns Dramatic 7-6A Victory

The Carroll Lady Dragons bounced back from a loss earlier this week with a dramatic District 7-6A victory at home Tuesday.

The Lady Dragons scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning leading to a 7-6 victory against Colleyville Heritage. Abigail Stuart and Gaby Garcia each produced RBI hits in the 6th. Both players finished the game with two hits and two RBI apiece.

Carroll returns to action at Haltom on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Dragons Fall to Top-Ranked Coppell
Carroll was held to one hit and lost 1-0 at top-ranked Coppell on Tuesday. The Cowboys are 17-0 and are No. 1-ranked team in the nation by MaxPreps.com. Dragon pitcher Michael Canterino, a Rice signee, held the Coppell offense to just two hits and had 10 strikeouts.

Both teams meet again Friday at 7 p.m. at Dragon Field. Carroll is 9-5-1 overall and 0-1 in district.
