Around the Horn: Dragons Win Fourth Straight, Sweep Trinity

The Carroll Dragon baseball team remained on a hot streak and completed a sweep of Trinity last week. The Dragons won 1-0 on Friday at Dragon Field to improve to 13-6-1 overall and 4-2 in District 7-6A.

The Dragons were led by pitcher Kole Ramage, who tossed a complete-game shutout and held Trinity to two hits and had seven strikeouts. Outfielder Zach Farrar delivered the game-winning hit with a sixth-inning RBI single. Farrar finished the game 3-for-3 and had half of Carroll’s six hits.

Carroll returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dragon Field against Colleyville Heritage.

Lady Dragons Hold Second Place in 7-6A

The Carroll Lady Dragon softball team earned a 9-6 victory vs. Richland last Friday in an game that featured five lead changes. Catcher Gaby Garcia led the Lady Dragons with four hits and two RBI. The spark for the Lady Dragons was a six-run sixth inning. Cami Green got the victory on the mound for Carroll. Carroll finished with 16 hits and has now won five consecutive games.

The Lady Dragons return to action at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Lady Dragon Field against Trinity. Carroll is 17-9 and 6-2 in District 7-6A.
