The Carroll Dragon boys’ golf team finished fourth at the UIL Class 6A state tournament this week in Georgetown.
Dragon golfer Colin Kober led the way and finished as the second overall medalist (71, 72 – 143) and won a playoff to earn the place. He was two strokes behind the top finisher. The Dragons, last year’s 6A state champion, finished with an overall team total of 597 and shot 296 and 301.
The rest of the Dragon team included Max Kettler, Caden Honea, Mason Greenberg and Brandon McKelvey. Plano West, Mansfield and Austin Westlake were the top three finishers.
The Lady Dragons finished 9th as a team at state. The team finished with rounds of 334 and 321 for 655 total.
Malak Bouraeda was the Lady Dragons’ top finisher with a 160 total after shooting rounds of 83 and 77. The reminder of the team included Michelle Kung, Miriam Dumes, Kelly Yang and Michelle Huynh.
