Former Lady Dragon Guard Vying for Team Great Britain Spot

Former Carroll Lady Dragon point guard Kennedy Leonard is among 16 players vying for a prestigious honor this summer.

Leonard is trying out for Team Great Britain, which includes the chance to play in the Under 20 European Championship Women Division in Montenegro this summer.

Kennedy, who mother is a native of Scotland, just finished her freshman year at Colorado and was named to the Pac 12 All-Freshman team.

This season, Leonard averaged 12.1 points per game and 4.6 assists for Colorado. As a senior at Carroll, Leonard was named District MVP and led the Lady Dragons to an undefeated run in district play while averaging 17 points a game.

Warm-up games are scheduled vs. Ireland on July 1-2 and vs. Romania on July 4-5 before leaving for Montenegro on July 6.
