Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) Closed from 9/24-9/26

A portion of Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) will be closed from Saturday, September 24th through Monday at 5:00 a.m., September 26th.

Beginning Saturday morning, September 24th through 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 26th motorists driving on Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) will notice the road closure and detours set up to guide motorists onto Fawkes Lane and Florence Road.  The closure will mainly affect commuters during the weekend.

This closure is necessary in order to install a traffic switch lane between the new pavement section and the existing Davis Boulevard roadway.  TxDOT and Austin Bridge & Road (ABR) plan to have FM 1938 open to through traffic by 5:00 a.m. Monday (9/26) morning.

This traffic switch is a milestone which indicates that TxDOT and ABR have completed a new section of roadway.  It also means a temporary inconvenience due to the construction activity.  With that in mind, motorists should be aware of the upcoming closure between 5 AM on Saturday, September 24th and 5 AM, Monday, September 26th and plan accordingly.

The City of Southlake is committed to providing residents with progress reports on the Davis Boulevard (FM 1938 Phase II Widening Project) construction via the City’s Facebook, Twitter, and DPS webpages.  Please check these sources for periodic updates.  If you have questions specific to the construction, please contact Stephen Ranft (TxDOT) at 817-462-0520 or Alex Ayala (City of Southlake) at 817-748-8274.

Once again, we thank you for your co-operation during this construction.

Update 9/23/2016: There is a chance of rain between late Friday night (tonight) and Saturday morning. If rain fall occurs, this will cause the construction activity to be postponed.
