September 1st Begins National Preparedness Month

Each year, National Preparedness Month serves as a great reminder that destructive events such as tornadoes, floods, acts of terrorism and pandemics like the Zika Virus can occur in a community with little to no warning. Preparing yourself is the key to being ready to face these threats and minimize the impacts they can have on your family, and our community.

Each week this month we are encouraging residents to take practical steps so that you are informed and ready for emergencies:

Week 1: September 4-10th Preparing Family & Friends
Week 2: September 11-17th Preparing Through Service
Week 3: September 18-24th Individual Preparedness
Week 4: September 25-30th Lead up to National PrepareAthon Day

The City of Southlake Facebook (SouthlakeDPS) and Twitter (@SouthlakeDPS) pages provide updates during emergencies.

Be sure to stay informed and remember – — Don’t Wait. Communicate. Make your emergency plan today.
