Carroll ISD Joins Forces with the City of Southlake to Recognize Fire Prevention Week

Carroll ISD is proud to support the City of Southlake and National Fire Protection Association’s campaign by recognizing Fire Prevention Week October 9-15. The Fire Prevention Week message for this year is “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace smoke Alarms Every 10 Years,” which encourages families to pay special attention to the state of the smoke alarms in their homes.

The school district and city officials are encouraging families to discuss fire safety and prevention measures in their homes this week. Check out the  Escape Planning Tip Sheet and the Smoke Alarm Replacement Tip Sheet for helpful advice about smoke alarm awareness and the importance of discussing a fire escape plan with your family. See these additional resources from the NFPA for more information on fire safety:

The City of Southlake will be visiting multiple CISD elementary campuses to encourage the messages of fire safety and fire prevention. Activities will include coloring contests in the Pre-K classes, with awards for winners and participants. The coloring sheets include important safety messages. City officials and officers will be visiting the following campuses with the engine, miniature smoke house and patrol car on the following dates:

  • Rockenbaugh Elementary: October 11, 8:30 – 9:45 a.m.
  • Carroll Elementary: October 17, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Old Union Elementary: October 20, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m
