Keep Green in Your Routine with the City’s Annual Leaf Recycling Program

Can you believe that it is already fall? Soon the weather cool down and the leaves will fall. Let the City of Southlake and Republic Services help you with disposing of your fallen leaves through the City’s Annual Leave Recycling Program.

The City of Southlake and Republic Services are pleased to offer curbside leaf recycling for Southlake residents through the Annual Leaf Recycling Program. The leaf recycling program gives citizens the opportunity to place their bagged leaves on the curb and have it picked up for recycling rather than ending up in the landfill.

To participate in the program, residents are asked to place their bagged leaves at the curb no later than 7:00 A.M. on any or all of the following collection days:

  • Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016
  • Wednesday, December 7th, 2016
  • Wednesday, December 21st, 2016
  • Wednesday, January 11th, 2017

Please make sure that bagged leaves are physically separated from other solid waste. Resident may bag their leaves using any type of bag.

The City’s Annual Leaf Recycling Program aims to reduce the amount of valuable landfill space that is used up by yard waste, an activity that in the long-term, removes nutrients from the environment and costs residents more in increased taxes and service fees. A more environmentally friendly disposal option is to recycle leaves and reuse their valuable organic nutrients in landscaped areas.

For information about the City’s Annual Leaf Recycling Program about the leaf recycling dates, please visit the City’s Annual Leaf Recycling page and subscribe to the Trash and Recycling calendar for updates.
