ABILENE – The Carroll Dragon tennis team’s season came to an end Friday in Abilene.
The Dragons lost a tight match in the Class 6A Region I final to Plano West, which qualifies for the state’s final four with the victory. Carroll led 4-3 after doubles action, but Plano West rallied for the victory in singles play.
Carroll, which was the No. 2 regional seed, defeated Waco Midway 10-1 in the first match of the regional on Thursday.
The Dragons followed that victory with a 10-4 victory against El Paso Coronado.
Carroll finished the fall season 16-4, which was also highlighted by a District 5-6A championship.
