Dragons Win 8th Straight with Rout of L.D. Bell

bell1HURST – The Carroll Dragons moved closer to an undefeated season in District 5-6A with a victory last Friday vs. L.D. Bell.

The Dragons won their eighth straight game with a 45-7 rout of Bell at Pennington Field. Carroll improves to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in district.

Carroll will look to complete an unblemished run through district with Friday’s home game vs. second-place Hebron on Senior Night.

The Dragons led 24-0 at halftime and were led on the ground by Tre Sledge and Audricke Gaines. Sledge rushed for 108 yards on 10 carries and had one TD rushing and one receiving. He had one of four Dragon TDs on the ground. Gaines added 65 yards and one TD. Tavian Gould and backup quarterback Will Bowers added the other TDs on the ground.

Starting quarterback Mason Holmes threw one touchdown to Clayton Keyes in the first half.

Defensively, Dragon freshman cornerback RJ Mickens had two interceptions.

Carroll is now ranked No. 8 in Class 6A by the Associated Press. The Dragons will be the No. 1 Division II seed out of 5-6A when the playoffs begin next week.
