The Carroll Lady Dragons almost completed an amazing comeback against the Class 6A defending state champions on Tuesday at Carroll Senior High School.
The Lady Dragons overcame losing the first two games and pushed Hebron to a fifth game before losing 3-2. Hebron won 25-23, 25-17, 22-25, 17-25 and 15-11.
Carroll suffered its first District 5-6A loss and dropped into a tie with Hebron at 9-1 in first place. The Lady Dragons defeated Hebron earlier in district play on the road.
Next up for the Lady Dragons is Marcus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. Four matches are left in district play before the playoffs begin. Carroll is 34-6 overall.
