Carroll ISD’s Student Services Department has created three DRAFT options of the 2017-2018 school calendar. The district is now seeking parent and staff feedback on these three options before presenting the final choice to the School Board for approval.
These calendar options consider the discussions from Carroll ISD’s District Advisory Committee meetings.
All three DRAFT calendars call for the first day of school for students to be Monday, Aug. 28, 2017. This is six days later than the current calendar due to a law that restricts the start of public schools on or after the fourth Monday of August.
All drafts include two bad weather days and 187 Teacher Contract Days as required as well as 174 Instructional days. Also noted are tentative STAAR testing dates released by the Texas Education Agency. CISD officials said the test dates could be subject to change, but TEA provide districts with guidance as they plan their school calendars for the coming year.
