FirstDay16 (22)Each summer, the Southlake Women’s Club helps Dragon families prepare for school by holding their annual School Supply Sale. They provide pre-packaged, CISD-approved school supplies for students at participating schools. This annual event has raised over $300,000 since its inception over 15 years ago. On Thursday, January 12, at their luncheon meeting, the Southlake Women’s Club presented over $37,500 to Carroll ISD schools from money earned in the 2016 sale. The participating schools included:

  • Carroll Elementary
  • Old Union Elementary
  • Walnut Grove Elementary
  • Johnson Elementary
  • Durham Intermediate
  • Eubanks Intermediate
  • Dawson Middle
  • Carroll Middle
  • Blended Preschool Program

School principals are able to use the funds to address needs on their campuses. Carroll Elementary school is planning on using their funds towards exercise stations on their playground. Lori Allison, principal at Jack D. Johnson Elementary says “We are dedicating the funds to alternate seating arrangements (bouncy bands, rocker chairs, balance ball chairs, etc.) to accommodate various learning styles and the need for students to wiggle while they work.”

Southlake Women’s Club will begin the 2017 School Supply Sale on May 1, 2017 and it will run through July 20, 2017.
