Superintendent Dr. David Faltys Receives Southlake Style’s Community Impact Award

Carroll ISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys received the 8th Annual Southlake Style Community Impact award last night at the Southlake Style Best of 2016 Reception. Southlake Style affiliates, sponsors, and Carroll ISD administrators joined Dr. Faltys and his family and friends on Thursday evening at The Hilton to celebrate this honor.

Board President Chris Archer spoke about his experience and relationship with Dr. Faltys, both on and off the Board of Trustees, and the overall incredible impact Dr. Faltys has had on the Carroll and Southlake communities. Carroll Senior Callen DiGiovanni also gave a speech about Dr. Faltys, emphasizing the importance of the six CISD Core Values that Dr. Faltys implemented at CISD. DiGiovanni expounded upon his personal relationship with Dr. Faltys, giving the audience an inside look at the special nature of a Superintendent who truly values his students. From rooting them on at their various sporting events, to taking selfies with them at any given time, Dr. Faltys is a friend to all Dragons, and never hesitates to make any one of them feel special.

The Community Impact Award was established in 2009 and has a tradition of recognizing the city’s most significant and long-standing contributors. Previous winners include Gary Fickes, Tarrant County Commissioner and former mayor of Southlake, Jack Johnson, former CISD Superintendent, and the Southlake Women’s Club, awarded for their work founding Southlake’s Art in the Square.

His Community Impact Award is the newest accolade to add to the the list of recognitions he has already received during his time as Carroll Superintendent. In 2010 he was named Region XI Superintendent of the Year, and also named Southlake Citizen of the Year in 2014. In addition to these personal awards, Dr. Faltys was also at the helm of CISD during its four consecutive UIL Lone Star Cup awards, a coveted recognition by all school district’s in the state.

Dr. Faltys is celebrating 10 calendar years on the job this year, leading the students, parents, teachers and administrators in Carroll ISD. In his time at Carroll, Dr. Faltys has made an incredible impact on the district, its students and staff. In 2007, Dr. Faltys implemented the Carroll ISD Core Values, the standards to which any Dragon, student or staff alike, are held. Excellence, Relationships, Character & Integrity, Innovation, Open & Honest Communication, and now Compassionate Service have shaped Dr. Falty’s time at Carroll, and will continue to do so for many years to come.
