Apex Arts League to Present UNT One O’Clock Lab Band in Southlake Concert

The APEX Arts League will present to the Northeast Tarrant County community The One O’Clock Lab Band in concert on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m., at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 South White Chapel Boulevard, Southlake.

Three local and highly talented high school jazz bands will open the program, performing commissioned pieces written by composition students at UNT. The High School bands include:

  • Carroll Jazz Orchestra from Carroll Senior High School, Southlake, Texas
  • Jazz Ensemble from Plano Senior High School, Plano, Texas
  • Lab Band 1 from Denton High School, Denton, Texas

The One O’Clock, under the new and exciting direction of Alan Baylock, is the premier performing jazz ensemble from the internationally acclaimed University of North Texas’ Jazz Studies Program. The One O’Clock is a seven time Grammy- nominated ensemble and has produced a multitude of great composers, performers, and educators all throughout the world, recording more than 60 albums in its tenure.

Tickets are available at the door or online. The price of the ticket is $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, and Apex members.
