Go Mobile and Sign Up for Southlake Connect

The City of Southlake is unveiling a new communication tool to help residents and local business leaders stay informed while on the go.

This new tool is called Southlake Connect and it allows users the ability to receive weather and emergency information delivered right to their mobile device.

As part of Southlake’s commitment to public safety, community awareness, and emergency preparedness, the City is phasing out the Blackboard Connect notification system and replacing it with the new comprehensive Southlake Connect notification system. Southlake Connect uses Everbridge software, a market leader that is trusted by major industries and government agencies to connect with over 50 million people around the world.

As a user of Southlake Connect, emergency information including, severe weather alerts and West Nile Virus updates, will be delivered directly to you via text, phone call or email. Users can also sign up to receive important information about community events and citywide meeting notifications.

All you need to do is make the Southlake Connection! It’s quick and easy to opt in, sign up, and begin receiving alerts via Southlake Connect on your mobile device. To register, you simply create a login and a password. Next you’ll complete your profile by entering your personal information, including first name, last name and registration email. You will then select how you want to receive alerts. The options include: text messages, email, mobile phones, and landlines. That’s all there is to it!

But remember, you must ‘opt in’ to begin receiving emergency alerts and notifications. Once registered, users will have access to important information at their fingertips. Mayor Laura Hill says, “The ability to receive important information while on the go is important in the fast-paced world in which we live. Southlake Connect will help users be better prepared and make better decisions, especially during an emergency.”

Don’t be left out. Sign up on February 23, 2017 using the Southlake Connect link to begin receiving important information that may affect you and your family. If you were previously signed up for the mobile alerts on Blackboard Connect notification system, that service will end on March 1.
