Hoops Update: Dragons Battling to Stay in Playoff Picture

The Carroll Dragon boys’ basketball team hosts Hebron at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 in a key District 5-6A matchup.

The Dragons defeated L.D. Bell on Tuesday 52-47 to stay in the playoff picture. Hebron leads the district at 8-2 and 20-6 overall. Carroll won the first district meeting at Hebron earlier this season.

Carroll (13-11) is tied for fourth place with Lewisville and Marcus at 5-5 in district. Four teams from each district earn playoff berth. Against Byron Nelson, Sam Bourcy led the Dragons with 15 points and Stephen Blomstrom had 13.

Next week, the Dragons finish the season with two road games — Tuesday at Flower Mound and Friday at Trinity.

Lady Dragons Face Hebron
The Lady Dragons host Hebron on Friday night at  6 p.m. seeking a district sweep of the Lady Hawks. Carroll is currently 1-11 in district and tied with Hebron. In the first meeting of the teams, Carroll won 45-31.

The Lady Dragons will close the regular season next Tuesday at Flower Mound at 6 p.m.
