Carroll Indoor Percussion Earns 2nd Place at Regional Competition

On Saturday, March 11, Carroll Indoor Percussion competed their 2017 show FROM DUST at the WGI Houston Regionals. Carroll Indoor Percussion finished the weekend with a 2nd place overall at the Houston competition and received a score of 87.70 during finals. FROM DUST had the honor of receiving the 2nd highest score in the country for all Regional competitions.

Additionally, FROM DUST placed 1st in the Houston Regionals for music presentation. Carroll Indoor Percussion will be putting on a free community performance of FROM DUST on April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the gym at Carroll High School.

Carroll Indoor Percussion is under the direction of Mr. David Walker, and is only in its fourth year of performing and competing. The artistic portion of the show has been designed by Ms. Samantha Willingham.

The students of FROM DUST have chosen to dedicate their performances to bringing awareness for the need for clean water in many developing countries. They are hopeful that their efforts will help raise $10,000 to help fund a well through the organization Charity Water. If you would like to donate to the DRAGON’S FOR WATER fund please go to:
