Dragon Debate Has Strong Finish at Texas Forensic Association State Tournament

Dragon Debate finished the year strong at the annual Texas Forensic Association State Tournament, held this year at Plano West High School.

Seniors Sam Bonham and Austin Meek finished as Quarterfinalists in Public Forum Debate, which is the best finish in school’s history in PFD. Seniors Jackie Prokopeas and Alex Federick were Octofinalists in Public Forum Debate, while Sophomore Sahaj Singh was Semifinalist in both Congressional Debate and Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking. Senior Emma Lin was a Semifinalist in Congressional Debate for the 4th consecutive year, and Senior Dru Patel was a Quarterfinalist in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking.

Overall Carroll finished the season in the Top 10 among schools with the most qualifications to the State Tournament, and 31 students qualified to TFA State this season. The team wil lcompete in the annual UIL District competitions March 24-26.
