Dragon Baseball Continues First-Place Reign in District 5-6A

The Carroll Dragon baseball team continues its hold on first-place in a competitive District 5-6A.

The Dragons improved to 9-1 in district with a come-from-behind 7-5 victory last Friday at home against Byron Nelson.

Carroll, the area’s No. 1-ranked Class 6A team by the Dallas Morning News, picked up its 20th win of the season in the back-and-forth game that included the Dragons overcoming a 2-0 deficit and breaking a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Dragon hitters Adam Stephenson, Wyatt Stapp and Kole Ramage each had two hits apiece. Cutter Sippel earned the victory and Nicco Cole delivered the save with two innings of relief.

Carroll has four district games remaining and faces L.D. Bell this week — Tuesday at Bell at 7 p.m. and Friday at CSHS at 7 p.m.

The Dragons have a firm hold on first place in district, three games ahead of second-place Marcus and Lewisville.
