Southlake Police Department Helping to Keep Your Home Safe and Sound

Heading out of town for summer vacation? The Southlake Police Department can help keep your home safe and sound while you are away.

Through two free services for Southlake residents, the Home Security Inspection program and the Vacation House Watch program, homeowners can rest assured about their home’s security.

The Southlake Police Department offers personal home security inspections to residents free of charge to identify any potential weak points of entry for burglars and offers suggestions to help safeguard your home. Each home inspection takes between 15-20 minutes and may be scheduled at the homeowner’s convenience. Contact Valerie Snyder at 817-748-8173.

If residents plan to be out of town for an extended period of time, homeowners can request a vacation house watch. Through the program, a police officer will check the residence (at least once per shift) to ensure the premises are secure. Residents can sign-up for a vacation house watch by completing an online form and can change the dates of service by calling the dispatch at 817-743-4522.

Residents can check the security of their own homes by reviewing the Home Security Points Checklist, a valuable tool that serves as a reminder to evaluate windows, doors, landscaping, and garage doors.

This summer, make safety a priority by allowing the Southlake Police Department to assist you in protecting your home and your valuables. For additional information, visit the Southlake Police Department webpage.
