It’s a Wrap for Stars & Stripes

It’s a wrap! We’d like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Stars and Stripes event and helped us put another amazing celebration in the record books!

This year the City of Southlake added some fun, new things for residents to experience such as the Facebook Stars and Stripes trivia contest. We gave away dozens of free t-shirts to our Facebook fans for answering questions about the annual event in Town Square. The toughest question seemed to be how many shells were used for the annual fireworks show. The answer was 1,116 shells which made for a spectacular ending to fun-filled day.

Another hit with attendees was the Stars and Stripes filter that we created for SnapChat users. We saw lots of great pictures taken with the Stars and Stripes special filter.

More than 30,000 people attended the Stars and Stripes event this year. For a crowd that size we are happy to report there were no major incidents. Kids and their moms and dads enjoyed the KidZone. It had everything from face painting, balloon art to bounce houses. The food vendors stayed very busy serving up some great food and ice cream. Several bands played throughout the evening providing attendees with enjoyable and upbeat musical entertainment.

We received lots of great feedback on our 19th Annual Stars and Stripes event like this one from Allison @HBMomof2 who tweeted, “Best in the metroplex, but I may be a tad biased! My town!”

And this one from Mishon @MishonLandry who tweeted, “Heart-pounding finale!”

If you weren’t able to attend this year you will certainly want to mark your calendar for next year as it will be our 20th Stars and Stripes event! Thanks again to everyone who came out for one of the biggest celebrations in North Texas and we hope to see you next year!

A special “Thank you” to all of our sponsors: Gateway Church, Sewell Cadillac, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Grapevine, Michael’s, All Star Orthopaedics.
