Mindfulness for Children with Special Needs

The Southlake Community Services department offers several classes for children with special needs and they are a great opportunity for socialization and fun!

Our Therapeutic Recreation service philosophy is to encourage people of all abilities to engage in a more active lifestyle through community recreation. Our goal is to provide positive recreation and leisure experiences through adapted, inclusive and community integration programs.

Join us this fall for Mindfulness for Special Needs! This mindfulness class offers fun, engaging, and evidence-based ways to teach children how to calm their bodies and minds. This class is designed for children with special needs including Autism, developmental delays, intellectual differences, and physical differences. Social-emotional learning, guided breathing practices, and adaptive yoga will be at the core of each class.

Register online for any of the programs listed below or visit Community Services in Town Hall, Suite 210. For more information on Mindfulness for Children with Special Needs please visit www.SouthlakeParksandRec.com or call (817) 748-8019.
