Satisfy Your Appetite at Three Southlake Restaurants During DFW Restaurant Week

Feeling hungry to help worthy causes? Satisfy your appetite for giving back while treating yourself during the 20th Annual DFW Restaurant Week, a charity-dining event benefitting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home.

The delicious experience kicks off in August with more than 130 participating restaurants, including three Southlake restaurants: Del Frisco’s Grille, il Calabrese Restaurant and Bar, and Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse.

During DFW Restaurant Week, participating restaurants offer special three-course dinners (or two-course lunches) at a set price. For each meal purchased, 20 percent goes back to the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, a hunger relief organization, or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth, which offers counseling and education to children and families. Since beginning 20 years ago, DFW Restaurant Week has raised more than $8 million dollars to support the beneficial work of these non-profit organizations.

From August 4 to August 20, Del Frisco’s Grille in Southlake will offer both lunch and dinner specials. With a focus on elevated American bar and grill cuisine, there are several delicious combinations on Del Frisco’s special lunch menu and special dinner menu for the event. Guests can enjoy a two-course lunch for $20.00, including unique dishes like cheesesteak eggrolls or sweet corn bisque as starters, and a shaved prime steak sandwich or seared salmon fillet as lunch entrees. With even more selections at dinner, diners can enjoy a three-course meal for $39.00, including the same starters as lunch, in addition to entrees like prime beef short rib stroganoff or filet mignon, and desserts such as salted caramel pudding jar or Nutella bread pudding, to name a few delicious options.

il Calabrese Restaurant and Bar in Southlake is the place to enjoy Italian fare centered around the best ingredients sourced from all over Italy. With both fixed-price lunch and dinner options on the menu from August 7 through August 13, diners can enjoy a two-course lunch for $20.00 or a three-course dinner for $39.00. Diners can start simply with a first course of tomato mozzarella salad at lunch or Tavola di Formaggi (a selection of aged cheeses) at dinner, among other options, before transitioning to various pasta dishes, entrée salads or pizzas at lunch. More elaborate dishes are available on the dinner menu, including Malloreddus al Ragu di Cinghiale (homemade tear drop pasta with wild boar bolognese sauce) and Branzino con Spinaci e Polpa di Granchio (grilled Mediterranean sea bass, white wine, lemon capers, jumbo crab meat sauce, sautéed spinach, and cherry tomatoes). With almond praline semisoft ice cream, chocolate chip and raisin bread pudding, and flourless chocolate cake, guests will want to save room for dessert.

From August 10 through August 30, diners will find delicious seafood and steak specials at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse in Southlake, a sister restaurant to the historic Dallas location. Recognized as offering the Best Steak by the Dallas Observer and the #1 Traditional American Restaurant in the DFW Metroplex by the Zagat Survey, Kirby’s also offers a trendy atmosphere, boasting a jazz lounge that features live music on the weekends. On Kirby’s special dinner menu, diners will find a varied selection of three-course dinner options for $35.00 per person. For example, guests may begin their meal with an optional course of chorizo stuffed quail, or jump straight into bacon-wrapped diver sea scallops or fried artichokes, followed by Australian braised lamb shank or caramelized salmon with candied pecans, before ending with butterscotch chocoflan or a strawberry mojito sundae.

During DFW Restaurant Week, dine out to give back. This tasty opportunity only comes once a year!
