City Council Briefs

City Council members discussed several topics at Tuesday (September 5, 2017) night’s meeting.

Council held the first reading of the FY 2018 budget and will revisit the budget again for its second reading at their next scheduled session on September 19, 2017.

The council chambers were filled Tuesday night with residents who wanted to learn more about the City’s position regarding short term home rentals such as Vacation Rental by Owner (VRBOs). The discussion gave Mayor Hill and Council members to hear citizens thoughts and concerns and to hold an public discussion about short term rentals pro’s and con’s. The discussion was the first of several community conversations that will take place over the next few months.

The Mayor also read a proclamation for longtime Southlake resident America Kaposta who recently turned 100 years old. We wish Mrs. Kaposta a very happy birthday.
