Annual Fall Leaf Recycling Program

The temperature is just beginning to fall and that means falling leaves are just around the corner.

The City of Southlake and Republic Services are standing by ready to help you dispose of all of your bags of leaves through the City’s Annual Leaf Recycling Program.

The City and Republic Services offers curbside leaf recycling for Southlake residents. It’s a great opportunity to place your bagged leaves on the curb and have them picked up for recycling rather than ending up in ending up in the landfill.

Here are this year’s dates for the program and remember to place bagged leaves at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on any or all of the following collection days:

New program dates:

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Wednesday, December 20, 2017

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Please make sure that bagged leaves are physically separated from other solid waste. Residents may bag their leaves using any type of bag.

The City’s Annual Leaf Recycling Program aims to reduce the amount of valuable landfill space that is used up by yard waste, an activity that in the long-term, removes nutrients from the environment and costs residents more in increased taxes and service fees. A more environmentally friendly disposal option is to recycle leaves and reuse their valuable organic nutrients in landscaped areas.
