Fall Crud Cruiser Event a Big Success

The fall Crud Cruiser event, held on October 28, 2017, at Dragon Stadium, was another big success!

Southlake residents came in large numbers to rid their household of hazardous waste. Residents dropped off paint and electronics and they took advantage of the on-site paper shredding that was made available to them.

This year, 19,340 pounds of household hazardous waste was collected, along with 4, 278 old electronics. Five-thousand pounds of paper was shredded.

Household Hazardous Waste Totals

Household Hazardous Waste – 19,340 lbs

Electronics – 4,278 lbs

Paper Shredding – 5,000 lbs

The City of Southlake partnered with Fort Worth Environmental, Expanco Documents, Republic Waste and Texas Recovery Systems to provide an easy way for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste. Items that were accepted included: automotive fluids, batteries, cleaners and chemicals, lawn/garden/pool chemicals, paint and painting supplies. CD/DVD drives, cell phones, computers (hard drives, monitors, laptops, cables etc.), printers, ink cartridges, and keyboards were included in the e-waste disposal.

If you missed the fall Crud Cruiser event, be sure to make plans to attend the one in the spring.  We will post information about it when the date is firmed up.
