Dragon Basketball Off to Hot Start; Tournament Win In Keller

This weekend the Carroll Dragon Boy’s basketball team continued their hot start to the 17-18 season with a tournament championship in the Keller ISD Basketball tournament.

Coming into the tournament, the Dragons’ season record sat at 10-2 with wins over Plano West, Arlington Martin and a close loss to the defending 5A state champion Mansfield Timberview.

The Dragons matched up in the first round against a 6-3 Tascosa High School team out of Amarillo, Texas. The Dragons came out shooting well early and lead by 16 at the half, and ended the game with a 74-57 victory. They went on to defeat Fort Worth Pascal and Keller High School to make the championship game.

In the championship game, the Dragons took on Timber Creek High School who they had faced earlier in the season on November 10. The Dragons, much like in the first matchup, controlled the scoreboard from start to finish and went on to win the game by a final score of 51-37.

The four wins over the three-day tournament took the Dragons record to 14-2 and stretched their current winning streak to six games.

The next game for the Dragon Basketball team is Tuesday, December 12 at Carroll Senior High School against Mansfield. Tip is at 7:30.
