The Carroll Education Foundation announces the appointment of six new members of its Board of Trustees, as well as the full slate of officers and board members for 2018.

CEF newly appointed officers include Kathy Talley (Chair), John Irvine (Vice Chair), Julie Doyle (Secretary), Mary O’Toole (Treasurer), Jessica Byrne (At Large), Sarah Mason (Past Chair).

New members of the CEF Board of Directors include Leslie Barrows, Rebecca Hindman, Tracey McDevitt, Kirran Moss, Diane Thomas and Theresa Wright. They will join the returning members Robin Austin, Ed Bunner, Michelle Clay, Boulton Fernando, Brian Hodges, Heather Jarvis, Alec Knight, Douglas Lies, Nolan Ogden, Stephanie Pennington, Chris Prokopeas, Sherri Williams, Annie Zvonecek.

CEF Executive Director, Laura Grosskopf is excited about the energy and passion these new officers bring to the program.

“All six of our newest Board members embody a passion for education in CISD and bring talent, expertise, and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have them join our efforts as the foundation transforms to strengthen the relationship with the district and make a deeper impact in our schools. ”, Grosskopf stated.

Nominations originated from both a public press release and internal nominations by both current board members and advisors. Each board member provided information on experience regarding career, philanthropy, CISD involvement, CEF support and areas of interest to serve. A Nominating Committee made up of current board members reviewed the applications and spoke with each candidate to determine the best fit for each open position.

New appointees exude a wide range of experience including a former Carroll ISD teacher, a former CISD PTO President and other active PTO members, graduates of CLASS (Carroll Leadership Academy for Supporting Success), CISD Strategic Planning Committee members, a very active Southlake Chamber of Commerce member and other district and community efforts. New members also have professional experience in marketing, fundraising, sales and law which covered the open positions. All our new officers and board members have one thing in common; they have all supported CISD and CEF.

The Carroll Education Foundation is excited about a transformative year in 2018. At the Carroll ISD Board of Trustee meeting on December 18, 2017, CISD and CEF signed a Memorandum of Understanding which demonstrates recognition of the assistance and contribution made by the foundation solely for the benefit of the district and its strategic plan.
