Lady Dragon Soccer 3-0 in National Showcase

The Lady Dragons competed in the National Elite Prep Showcase (NEPS) this weekend. NEPS is a showcase that matches up some of the top girl’s soccer programs in the country. The showcase was played at Dragon Stadium and various other stadiums around DFW.

The Lady Dragons faced off against a program out of Bucholz, Florida in the first match of the showcase last Thursday and went on to win 9-0.

In weekend action, the Lady Dragons earned victories in their other matches versus Austin Westlake and Amarillo by scores of 4-1 and 9-0 respectively.

The Lady Dragons put on a scoring display through the three-game showcase. Led by 5 goals on the weekend by Madi Drenowatz, the Lady Dragons scored 22 goals as a team. Goalkeeper Madi Martin earned two shutouts and the Lady Dragon defense only allowed one goal during the three-game run.

The  Lady Dragons, currently ranked No. 11 according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, are off until Thursday, Jan. 11th when they travel to Georgetown to compete for the Governor’s Cup. The first match is against The Woodlands at noon at Birkelbach Stadium in Georgetown.
